Community Outreach.
We had our Community Outreach on Saturday. It was pretty successful. Over 300 church volunteers showed up. I think we gave away about 615 frozen turkeys and thus 1230 boxes of food that went along with it. The final 85 sets were distributed door to door in the neighborhood, or were taken to those who might need them by church members. Things went pretty smoothly. People were eager to serve. I was on a traffic directing post and people kept bringing hotdogs out to us until we had to turn them down. I really didn't want any, but I didn't want to be rude, so I accepted and ate until I couldn't eat anymore. One guy went through the line twice for turkeys, I thought he looked like he really needed help so I didn't say anything. One guy walked up to me at my post and asked whet we were doing. I explained and he said "so you're trying to help the needy." I replied that I didn't really think we were asking if people were needy, although I recognize we were doing this in a less advantaged part of town where we hope to establish a long term presence. The area seems to be under served and has fewer resources. I didn't want it to come across that we feel superior. That would be a tragedy. We just have been given more, so more is expected from us "To whom much has been given, much is required." Luke 12:48 (Although that is really a reference to the punishment to be given to those who misuse God's resources).

He Has Chosen us In Christ
Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:
Isn't it amazing, that before God ever created the heavens and the earth, he chose us in Christ. God planned our redemption before he ever created Adam.
Why?
Eph 2:7 That in the ages to come he might shew the exceeding riches of his grace in [his] kindness toward us through Christ Jesus.
From eternity past, to eternity future we have been and are a part of God's magnificent plan. We have an eternal purpose which is to glorify Him.
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
And to walk in the good works that God has fore ordained for us.
This weekend I get to walk in one of those works. Our church body is reaching out to establish a presence, a new campus in a run down area of our community. To provide the ministry of good works and to bring the gospel of redemption to our own community. These works don't save us, but they do show forth our salvation.

Glory First To God
God is so good! I just want to praise Him for who He is. He is Father, Son and Holy Spirit; three in one. United in essence and mind and mission. I don't pretend to understand the Trinity of God; but having seen in scripture and been convinced of a God who is bigger than I can concieve in my limited mind, I can only stand humbly and praise Him. I am so thankful that Jesus The Christ who, being equal with God, humbled Himself to death on a cruel cross in order to secure my salvation. I am humbled that before God ever created the heavens and the earth, I was on His mind, as was His plan for my eternal salvation. I am humbled that the precious Holy Spirit has been on this planet moving upon and through imperfect men for the benefit of all in order to open their eyes to the Glory of Christ. There is much more to say of God, more than I can say in a lifetime, of His goodness and mercy and love and grace. All glory to God Almighty, Everlastng Father, Creator of Heaven and Earth. Savior of my soul before I was ever brought forth on the planet, yet brought forth in His mind before he spoke the worlds into being. Yes I am being redundant, but the glory of God is too much for me to allow myself to be restrained in His praises. If there is deficit here, it is mine, not His. If I fail, don't blame it on God. I just want to keep going, but I will stop now.
